Several of my courses require the use of the [Hypothesis annotation platform](http://hypothes.is/). Hypothes.is is an open source, non-profit project designed to develop an open protocol for annotation across the web. It is also specifically focused on supporting academic use. However, because it is an attempt to simulate a layer of the web that doesn't otherwise exist, the technical implementation is less than seamless. I am in touch with the Hypothesis team, and we'll be sharing the results of our experience directly with them for the benefit of future users. | Several of my courses require the use of the [Hypothesis annotation platform](http://hypothes.is/).
